Auntys Academy is an educational app for children aged 2.5 to 7 years focussing on the basics of Maths, English and General Knowledge.
It can form the basis of preparation for 4+ and 7+ assessments but is also extremely useful for general educational development and forms firm foundations for the 11+ curriculum and exams.
Based on tried and tested educational techniques, the in-app resources will help your child with the basic building blocks required for his/her future learning.
The app is constructed so that your child completes weekly workbooks which, to begin with, consist of exercises to help your child learn numbers, phonics, shapes and colours through different exercises.
Each workbook can be completed twice before moving on to the next weeks resources.The first materials your child will use aim to build a number of key aspects of a childs early years education.
For example, your child can develop strong pencil control and small muscle coordination by using the stylus to write his/her name and by practicing to write numbers and draw shapes.
Your child can develop good hand-eye coordination through, for example, completing dot to dot exercises and mazes.
The app also provides the basis for non-verbal reasoning through exercises such as selecting the "odd one out" and finding exact replicas of objects.
Once phonics are strong, your child will learn to read, write and rhyme.
Once your child has learnt the numbers, he/she will learn to count, associate each number with the quantity and learn to add and take away.
In addition, colour sequences and story sequences help with memory and and brain development as well as speech and logical thinking.The resources within the app are thoroughly researched, tried and tested educational resource that has been developed over three decades of focussed research and dedication to early years education and development.
It is specifically tailored to each age group and the materials are configured in such a way as to allow the child to progress through repetition and reinforcement of concepts while gently introducing new concepts.We have painstakingly created these materials with the childs developing brain in mind.
